Coline Lasbats was born and works in the French region of Occitanie. She holds a Masters in Art and Aesthetics of Art from the University of Lille 3 and a National Postgraduate Diploma in Visual Arts from the School of Fine Arts in Tarbes. Her work centres on agricultural heritage and know-how. In this context, the ambiguous use of objects and life forms are avenues of reflection that lead the artist to deploy unusual ways of doing things. Her images, often created through the medium of film photography, are part of a practice where the subject makes/creates the photograph, as demonstrated in her research into the use of fireworks as both a tool and image.
